Open Water Diver PADI – We explain it to you

If you have always wanted to learn to dive, experience a unique adventure and see the world below the surface, this is where it begins to come true. To enroll in a PADI Open Water Diver (or Junior Open Water Diver) course, you must be 10 or more years old. You need proper swimming techniques and be in good physical health. You do not need previous experience in diving.

The Open Water Diver course certifies you to dive all over the world, if you need to be accompanied by an instructor. You can dive with a partner of your same level or higher up to a maximum depth of 18m.

The PADI Open Water Diver course consists of three main phases:

Knowledge Development (online, independent study or in a classroom) to understand the basics of autonomous diving
Immersions in Confined Waters to learn basic diving skills
Open Water Dives to use your skills and explore!After this part you will be an Open Water Diver diver.

Once you have completed your course. Your instructor will enroll you in the PADI Federation and you will receive at your home your valid certification card to dive anywhere in the world.

In the PADI Open Water Diver course, you will learn how to use the basic diving equipment, including a mask, tube, fins, regulator, buoyancy control device and a bottle. The equipment that you will take varies, depending on whether you are going to dive in tropical, temperate or cold waters.

We will schedule schedules together to check your progress and make sure you understand the important information of autonomous diving.


When you finish your OWD (Open Water Diver) course you can start your AOWD PADI advanced diver course. This course will teach you other forms of diving, apart from allowing you to dive deeper.
