Description

PADI Scuba Diver – Diver under supervision

(All courses are PADI and include the manual, the basic diving equipment, diving insurance and the certification fee)

Start diving for yourself

Do you have little time and much urgency to become a certified diver? The PADI Scuba Diver certification can be for you. This course requires less time than the PADI Open Water Diver course. It covers only the first three sections of the five of the knowledge development, the first three of the five pool sessions and the first two of the four training dives. Resulting in a limited certification. Especially if you plan to go diving mainly accompanied by a diving guide or if you have limited time to devote to diving certification, you can become a PADI Scuba Diver.

This certification allows an extensive diving experience and is a good warm up for the Open Water Diver course, if this is your final goal. The PADI Scuba Divers are qualified to:

  • Diving under the direct supervision of a PADI PRO.
  • Get loads of breathable gas, rent or buy diving equipment and participate in other diving activities whenever and when they have the required supervision.
  • Continue your diving training and complete the PADI Open Water Diver certification and other courses such as the Project AWARE specialty courses and equipment specialist

The fun part

The Scuba Diver certification opens the door to the underwater world to anyone who thinks a course will be too long or too difficult.

  • Upgrade to Open Water Diver whenever you want! With less time than you take in the Scuba Diver course, you can take the jump to the Open Water Diver certification and begin to dive independently when time permits or you have more availability.

What will you learn?

All the basics of autonomous diving through the development of knowledge, a series of exercises in the pool that you will perform again during the open water dives and a perception of the underwater world that will make you return to spend more time in the background at each opportunity you have!

During the course you will work with the material and practice the skills related to topics such as:

  • Buoyancy techniques including ascents, descents and breathing underwater.
  • Stay warm underwater improving your swimming skills and diving techniques with your partner.
  • The diving environments and the aquatic life that you are likely to encounter.
  • Prevent common problems under water.

The learning materials you will need

PADI offers a variety of home study materials for the Scuba Diver course. Although eLearning is the most convenient option, you can also choose a book package with DVD video or a multimedia DVD-ROM.

The PADI Scuba Diver materials provide a complete overview of basic diving techniques, terminology and safety procedures. For each concept, you will read a description and you will see a demonstration video. Then you will jump into the pool (or a pool-like environment) to practice these skills with your instructor. Once you are a certified diver, use the course materials as a reference guide for future diving adventures.
