CPR & FIRTS AID: Emergency First Response Primary and Secondary Care

First Aid and CPR are the best skills for those who are involved in adventure sports, so it may happen, you never know. In addition, you need these techniques for the PADI Rescue Diver course.

EFR is a PADI partner that specializes in teaching these techniques and does it for anyone, not just divers. Most PADI Instructors are also Emergency First Response Instructors!

The fun part

The fun part of Emergency First Response training is that you will learn serious medical emergency skills in an optimistic and positive environment. You acquire the confidence you need to be prepared to help in an emergency.

What you will learn in the EFR Courses of Primary Care and Secondary Care

  • SVB (Basic Life Support) CPR and rescue breaths at a non-professional level.
  • Use of the AED (automatic external defibrillator) (optional)
  • Prevention and treatment of a shock.
  • Management of spinal injuries.
  • Use of barriers to reduce the risk of disease transmission.
  • Considerations on basic first aid and first aid equipment.

The learning materials you need

Through a combination of independent study and practical exercises with an instructor, you will build the confidence and skills to provide basic emergency care. The Primary and Secondary Care Manual and the DVD video preview emergency scenarios and provide step-by-step skills demonstrations.

The Emergency First Response consultation chart is a quick reference guide for emergency situations. Designed to be placed in a compartment such as a glove compartment or backpack, the consultation pad (Care at a Glance card) is an important component for any first aid episode or to prepare a catastrophe kit.
